Cancer Full Moon

Welcome to 2017!  Happy New Year.

The first Full Moon of the year coincides with Venus at her greatest elongation from the Sun. Now entering the last stages of her evening star phase, the love goddess aligns with romantic Neptune, making this a heartfelt and emotional Full Moon.

The Sun and Moon square off with the Uranus-Eris-Ceres stellium and with Jupiter, creating a dramatic cardinal grand cross. This is a distinct crossroad and time for decision making. Emotions run high with Pluto involved so we may feel rather unsettled or insecure.

Family and domestic matters are likely to be uppermost in our hearts and minds.

The on-going lack of fixed energy with regard to the slower moving planets continues to create a fair amount of instability. Plans that we have made could suddenly change so try to remain centred and also adaptable. This may not be easy to do, but there is no point becoming overly stressed by things we cannot control. What we can do is re-evaluate our position and re-orient ourselves and maintain our core values as we head into the last evening star Venus period.

Venus starts applying to the Sun at this Full Moon and in entering this new phase her message is to turn our attention towards what we most value. Close ties and the support of family and community sustains us now. If no external emotional support is available, we can gain focus from within by establishing a relationship with the principles and standards we value the most. Spiritual concepts become more important now too, especially since Venus and Neptune are together in compassionate Pisces. This is an important Full Moon for making decisions based on our standards and principles and what sustains us emotionally.
